Our Production Process

Apex Structures estimating team have over 150 years of specialist industry experience to provide an estimate and programme that are both sound and competitive; and where necessary use their expertise to advise the client to guarantee the best results are achieved.

As part of our commitment to sustainability to minimise waste and transport costs to the environment, our Estimating Department are trained in the use of our bespoke StruMIS Management System – nesting material to maintain responsible procurement.

One of our key attributes is the accuracy and quality of all manufacturing output.  The process begins in our Design and Detailing department. Using the latest computerized technology software such as, TEKLA, AutoCAD, MaterSeries & Management Systems we can propose Value Engineered alternatives to connection design, member weights, manufacturing lead-in and an installation programme.

Being fully integrated with our fabrication facilities enables our experienced detailers to make responsive changes where necessary, while at all times having complete control and clarity. To reduce installation duration we promote off-site solutions wherever possible – as such our production teams are in constant liaison with our designers to make key decisions.

Apex employs a skilled workforce of platers, welders and paint sprayers and can manufacture steelwork to the demands of any specification.

The whole of the manufacturing process is closely managed, to exact specified criteria, by our extensive quality control systems. This assures the accuracy of manufacture and that steelwork deliveries are sequenced in accordance with programme demands.

Apex Structures employ a highly experienced and skilled workforce fully trained in Health and Safety best practice. All erectors are fully informed and committed to the Method Statement and client expectations before they work on site.

The company ensures all erectors are CITB & CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) certified, together with IPAF, PASMA, Slinger/Banksman and Asbestos Awareness training and certification.

All of our working and non-working supervisors have a minimum of SSSTS accreditation.

In addition we have sector specific training such a LUCAS Entry Permits, Substation & Confined Spaces Certificates and Asbestos Awareness training.
